Maybe USCIS is already processing the PD 2007 for India, and the VB Bulletin next month will be current for the others. If thats the case they already advanced the cutoff dates.

I am in a similar position and am going to wait till the end of the year for the AP. I am hoping to be able to go for the H1B stamping with the AP. So if there is any problem with the H1 I can atleast re-enter using the AP. Its a nice backup...

My H1b is going to expire on April 17th. I had found a new job and they had applied for my H transfer on March 27th. I would like to know
1. How many days is required to get a H1b transfer receipt.
-- upto 1 or 2 weeks if it's Premium
-- Upto 2 or 4 weeks for regular. Looking at your case, your lawyer probably already has receipt Number.
2. What happens if my H1B expires before i get a receipt.
-- Nothing, you will get a receipt sometime , so long as you get a receipt that will have date of receipt as you originally sent it. If you are afraid your company didn't actually send it, then
3. Should i go on EAD or continue on H1B. My wife is a green card holder for last 3 years 6 months.
That decision has no relation to pending h1. You can choose to go to EAD anytime. Looking at your situation, you are probably better of on EAD. Your wife will eligible for citizenship in 18 months then she can apply for naturalization, I think even now you can probably apply as spousal category so really no reason for you to be on h1 ..(Not entire sure abot this.. check with family immigration lawyer)

A bit melodramatic, but i can relate to that. I lost one of my parents to this "US dream". But that is my personal problem.
I know of a colleague who lost her father but could not go to perform the last rites because she did not have the H1 stamped and the earliest appointment that any consulate in India was giving her was 4 months away.

Whoever opened this post about retrogression, close this stupid post.
Previous months everyone was discussing on how the dates should move, how to avoid retrogress.
Now when the dates have moved, now some idiots are speculating on when and how the dates should retrogress.
Guys get a life, focus on the core element here, the element is to relieve ourselves and others from backlog. Read all these posts, what are we you all focusing on when dates will Retrogress
What you get in life is what you attract and think. Think positive and positivity will come to you, if you keep questioning it, then you can join the long line of suckers and whiners.
Close this damn post and all the people who have to give their 2 smart cents on retrogress, call among each other or open something of your own.
All these messages which you are posting will just break our spirit. Administrator, please close these posts.

Updated the list in the previous page Guys, if you want to take a look for those who care.
But here is something very interesting I just noticed from the list. A bunch of the approvals for July 2007 filers occurred during Jan-Feb 2008, but after that NOTHING!! I can only speculate that under some directive, they were ordered not to touch our cases after that timeframe. I *think* it was because they wanted to use up the EB2 visas, so they only worked on that moving forward, that's why ~ 80% of July-Aug EB2 140's have been processed so far.
But again I reiterate, many of us will see the silver lining & feel the sunshine this year, sometime in October, by the rays & grace of God. I must say, I have never felt this way before.

I think this rule would be pretty controversial with the diversity restrictions that US expects.
So, why there is country limit just on GC quota, if they want diversity it should be on H1/L1 visas as well...this is why we are seeing backlog of more then 5yrs in GC. It is not diversity they want it is called discrimination :eek:

Yeah, that means a maximum of three images got more than one vote. So it was either 3 nominees or 17. I guess having more judges might've helped.
