Approvals for Mid-may have started now. They are in that region. July cases would be Nov/Dec.
I am telling because my mid-may I-140 case got approved today. I am from retrogressed country. So cannot file I-485.

You should have done this at least 6 months before your I-94 expiry date so that you could have used automatic Visa revalidation to reenter US after which you could have handed over your I-94 and left Canada by plane.
Now that you're running out of options, my suggestion is that you leave US by plane and find alternatives to transport your car. This is a surefire way to get your records updated.
Don't even bother about following up with attorneys or mailing the documents to "ACS - CBP SBU" as it's all time consuming and complicated. If the CBP didn’t update their records due to whatever reason, then the onus is on you to prove that you didn’t overstay your I-94.

Even after you give up on your greencard process and relocate your life to another country, there is still a complicated mess of paperwork to be done - mail I-94 here, fill this form, fill that form, prove that you didnt overstay your stay, this whole new thing about Kentucky where I-94 needs to be mailed, and worst case, you have to come back again and take a plane just so someone would collect this stupid little piece of 3rd grade recycled paper card called the I-94 ? WTF ?
I'd be mad at this process and if I was leaving this country for good, and if they told me that I have to take a airline flight just so the might lords of CBP would be kind enough to collect my I-94 that they wont collect on the land border on highway, then I would not go thru that maze and mail that I-94 to Kentucky or wherever the hell is that place and leave it be.

I am in 7th year of H1b now..last time my h1b was renewed dates were until April 2008. I went to india in Dec 2006 and came back in Jan 2007. My passport was expiring on Sept 29th 2007 so Immigration officer dated my I-94 until sept 29th 2007 and told me same thing that you can go to any port of entery or international airport and meet USCIS officer and extend your I-94 with your new passport. I waited until last moment and around sept 24th I went to USCIS officer on airport as well as on Port of Entry (called Deffered Inspection site). Both places got answer you need to file extention online because we only correct mistakes and this is not a mistake but it was case of passport expiration. I called my lawyer, my hr, my company lawyer. Everyone told me I cant work after 29th sept as my i-94 is expiring. Thats same as your H1 expiring. SO either leave country and comeback with new stamping or file new h1b. I ended up filing new H1b as i had only couple of days left before my I-94 would have expired. I have filed I-485 and ead and my I-140 is pending. My pd is Dec 2003. As per my lawyer I want be out of status as mY I-485 is pending but I will loose eligibility to work as I wont have any work authorization once my I-94 expires and dont have EAD approved on my hand. I agree with you 200%. This new change will severely cause further retrogression.

My son and you are in the same boat. He came here 9 years ago went to middle/high school here. Now, he is in college and will turn 21. He will not get his greencard because he is here on H4 legally.

It is very comprehensive list. It covers every field. Graduates of pharmacy, medicine, vet medicine etc are not PhDs. They have to go through special programs to get that degree.

This is unfair for many researchers in biology who should be in the STEM majors but they are not in just because of technical/clerical reasons. I request you all to take a look at this anomaly.

If you find any company breaking the law, abusing the system or 'exploiting' immigrants as anti-immigrants allege, you must take action.
DOL USCIS must be informed. Search the forum and you will find resources how to do it. Unless we all take steps, there will be few bad apples that will give a bad name to the entire system.
I think it was Mahatma Gandhi who said that a person who accepts a bad deed and does not take action is also equally responsible as the person doing it.
IV strongly condemns anyone breaking the law. People must report it to the authorities. IV community must work on protecting the rights of the immigrants and support anyone who is willing to go against companies that break the law or 'exploit' immigrants.
