Mail + Email + Fax at least to two senators of your State and your local representative. I would recommend you to send to all Senators and as many representatives as you can call.

Is there anyone who got an appointment letter recently from Amercan Embassy, MUMBAI?
My interview is scheduled on 22nd Aug but not received letter yet.

GO home and stand in front of a mirror and ask yourself if your 3 year degree and a masters bought for 4k will get you a greencard in eb2.
That is what exactly I am trying to find. Not in front of a mirror. But searching in forums where I might get correct answer.
It is not about 4K Masters or 14K Masters.
I am looking for information on what credentials does USCIS look for when evaluating Masters degree. Is it the Accredition of the University, reputation of the University, Length of the degree.
I just need a well thought-out answer.

If you do not get an Infopass appt. walk in ...as it is an emergency (you amy loose your job) ! Take all docs that provide proof of that.
I had seen walkins accepted at my USCIS local office...
I'm went to the infopass website to make an appointment for interim EAD; I chose the "Washington Field Office" since I live in the DC Metro area. There are no appointments available in Aug and Sep!
This is unbelievable! What other options do I have?

I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to this new effort taken up by a group of people badly hit by the immigration delays or we can say immigration black out in U.S..

1) Find solution to employment based greed card retrogression
2) Labor delay in the backlog centers.
All the members of this non-profit organization are facing severe problems due to these issues. We have started the awareness drive and professional strategic help (lobbying) efforts have started for the new Comprehensive immigration reform bill due on the floor of the Senate and House in Spring of-06. To make a difference and to have the new law passed in the way the current visa retrogression & Backlog center delays cane be addresssed with the new bill, I would request you to please spread this message or forward the email to as many people as possible.
Attached file contain the flyer. This flyer is to create awareness for this effort and add to the ongoing membership drive for http://www.immigrationvoice.org to find solution to Green Card Retrogression problem as well as the backlog centers. We are actively starting to work with the lawmakers to make appropriate changes in Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill.
I would urge you to please go ahead and post these flyers at Chinese/Pilipino/Indian stores/religious places or anywhere you now think individuals supporting our cause will gather. Thanks Almond. At this point, I am hoping USCIS will at least allow me to change jobs (remember - I am on 7th year H1b - approved I-140, did not apply for I-485 due to retro). some members here said this is possible and some other members said I cannot do this. so I am confused if I can do this or not. If at all USCIS lets me do this, it would be great if I can find a new employer who can do EB-2. I am praying to God to help me while I try this route. I am not asking too much here... am I ?
No, not at all. It's perfectly normal to want to advance in life and to want to move on to better things. I think the best thing to do right now would be to go for a consultation with an immigration lawyer. Or, if you cannot afford it maybe you can schedule an InfoPass appointment and ask the rep there what your options are. But I'd say a lawyer would be the best option.

Thanks! That's helpful... from what you say, sounds like PD is still quite important. RD comes into the picture only after the PD becomes current. However, if a range of PD's are current, then they would sort those by RD and not by PD.
For eg, if they move the dates forward by a year, and Jan 04 and Jan 05 are both now current, a person with PD of Jan 05 but an earlier RD would still get processed prior to an application with PD Jan 04 and a later RD (according to the FIFO principle)...

Absolutely wrong. Lot of misinformation here. You can very well apply for OCI for your child even if both of you are Indian citizens and the 4 steps mentioned above are just wrong. I would prefer OCI over PIO as mentioned in the other reply too, on PIO your child will have to register with the police station evry six months if stay is longer. OCI is valid forever while PIO is valid for 10 (or 5) years and OCI means you have all the rights but can't fight elections and vote.
In 2005 my first kid got an OCI as the rules were diiferent then but in 2009 the current rule is that one parent MUST be a US citizen and I had to take a PIO for my second kid in 2009.
Following is from the FAQ`s of Indian consulate at SFO
6. Are minor children whose both parents are Indian citizens eligible for OCI?

They started blaming Aman Kapoor saying that he is rubbing his idealogies over already stressed immigrants - this was ridiculous and I am so sad that people have such thoughts.

Send email to who ? Can you pls describe in detail what email they need to send and what reason they need to put in. My local office always says NSC is processing July cases so you should have it soon, but that "soon" has never happened. It is 160+ days since I applied.

I personally am not questioning Robinder's achievements/accomplishments. I am glad that the media mishap is ironed out and it ends there as one of our member said. No one has personal grudges here. You have been a member of IV from 2006 and know Robinder to an extent where you can go on a limb, how come you havent pushed him hard to support this, if not along with IV, but on his own. I have been visting a lot of immigration related internet forums for a while and I never saw any efforts towards this from any American Indian Citizen community. It could just be a coincidence that I might have not noticed any such efforts. I am more than happy to end this discussion here and stop retrospecting. The media mishap has been clarified. Lets leave it there, unless the American Citizen Indian community wants to do their part in achieving our common goal.

Question gurus... I have a xerox copy of my approved I-140. Will this be enough to port the priority date? or do you need the original copy to be submitted along with the new I-140 application when you request portability of older priority date?? please clarify.

When does the "Approval notice sent" status appear, it is about 7 days since I got the production ordered.

My EAD is pending for 8 months due to security clearance. I requested interim EAD but no luck. Have made several info pass appointments, the IO called Texas Service Center and spoke to the officer who has my application. the Texas service center replied to local IO that they will soon get to it. As of January 11, 2008 my application is sitting on the desk of the IO in Texas waiting to be adjudicated. However, with pending security clearance I am not sure when that would happen....Biometrics were done in July 2007.
Any advise is greatly appreciated
