I signed up online after one my friend referred me to this plan but unfortunately I have not used their referral link. I called customer service after getting my phone and told them my friend's number and they are saying that since I did not go through the right link, we both won't get the $49 until after I complete the 3 months. And I won't get it if I forget to call them after 3 months. I am wondering if I should cancel and send them back the router and order online through the referral link.

You are correct, EB 3 I has less than 3k visas available. I have confirmed the number on Greg Siskinds blog. There is minor problem with BharatPremi's analysis. EB3 I's... we really need to do something about recapture. There will be no spillover available for EB3-I till 2012.

If there are 140K visas then EB3 category will get 140,000%28.7 = 40180
and of these 40180 EB3 India will get just 40180%7= 2812
Folks, only 2812 Visas for EB3 India and EB3 is not going to get any spillover this year!!

Received the physical card and the welcome notice on mail yesterday for self and welcome notice for my wife. Status still under initial review for self and for wife it is under post decision.

They haven't mentioned there whether dependents are included or not. So multiplying by 2.1 is probably not correct nor wrong at this point. I would think dependents are included in this. Everybody needs to file an I-485 I presume and they are just counting the pending ones.

The USCIS has said this this is the number of pending I-485s, so it does include pending dependent I-485s. They don't have to specifically mention "dependents are included,"because dependents do file separate forms I-485 when the primary applicant files his/her own. Thank you. :-)

I just received notification that my approved 140 (which got approved way back in 2007) is now moved to USCIS. Has anyone seen this before?

My husband's EB2 Dec 2003 I-485 is at NSC and has been pending. Called customer service using POJ method and got an answer that the application is assigned to IO.
We have replied to RFE two months ago.
Can anyone guess how long it usually takes for IO to actually look at it and approve.
Does it help to file DHS form 7001 or contacting congressman at this point.

Before you file the law suit consider this,
The system is designed to get GC faster to the smarter (EB1, EB2, EB3 etc) or the rich (Investor). Sometimes circumstances decide in which queue you start the journey, Employer, attorney, how many days left in h1b etc, etc, etc
I do not like to jump queues and resent people who jump queues. But these are the people who look for opportunities and exploit them. These are the smart ones.
System favors people who are skilled (higher the better), By finding (new Labor, new I140) and using an opportunity these people have proved that they are worthy of the faster queue (eb3 to eb2, eb2 to eb1 etc).
What is wrong in rewarding the hardworking smart person with the original PD. After all that PD was established for that person(thank god LC sub is gone). That is the day an employer decided to sponsor GC for that person.

I bought a house in the year 2006 (2 years back as Punjabi did)....there were reports, news items, articles everywhere talking about the real estate bubble with data available by cities/states. So saying something like "what is the fault of Punjabi" is not fair as we are all here because of our "extraordinarily high skills". And where did the $200 K number come from ? In the city where I live, the average house price was $220,000, I bought a house which was worth $185,000. I knew my limits.
First of all I am not affected by foreclosure and nor do I own a property.
Now let me say this: What is the fault of Punjabi if his house price went down by $200K? He has a load which is not only more than his house value, he is also paying an interest on that loan. It is true that he has got into hot water but how many years will it take to make $200 K? Most of us are not millionaires here. It is true that he will suffer for a few years but I dont see why giving up the house is not an option. Why would he continue to pay interest and principal when his house may not get to the same value in his lifetime? I think foreclosure is a small price to pay in that light.

Wow !! They probably did their homework and are prepared to hide behind some loophole in the law to clear themselves of discrimination.
After reading the other thread link that BharatPremi had posted earlier, it seems there is a possibility that they could claim that they don't want to do sponsorship (which is legal to say so), and hiring an EAD candidate means they may have to do some amount of sponsorship, however small it might be (like providing the correct form of employment letter etc).
Interesting policy. A lot of companies do not sponser H1b and GC because of the woes, costs and hastles associated with it, though they would love to hire the right kind of candidate. But this company is ready to pass the right candidate just because they have to provide a letter?

Is there some master list of companies that have been filed against ? Do you know of anyone on this list that have done so and won ?

There is no contract to change the plans. I just spoke to Vonage customer service. She clearly explained me about the contract requirements. In fact there is no commitment for the new users also. The 1-year contract which shows on the website is for the Phone Adapter. They only charge for the phone adapter if you discontinue your service before 1 year. No strings for the existing customers.

As I had mentioned earlier in this thread - I had received 3 referral credits through IV. (actually I had sent out more invitations - but not everybody accepted/used my invitations).
For this, as I had promised earlier in this thread - I will contribute $75 to IV once I start using these referral credits (which will happen from next month once my own sign up referral bonus runs out).
Two of the three referrals who used my invitation also promised they will contribute $25 to IV for the referral.
To me, this appears to be an acceptable use of the IV message board. Anybody benefitting from IV by getting referrals may want to do the same.
OTOH, I think it is unfair to abuse the IV platform for personal gain. No other respectable message board allows that. Try these referral spam or other trolling activities in fatwallet of SD, and see how fast you get banned for it even though they are explicitly for deal hunting. Online anonymity is a great thing since it masks a trolls true identity. But think again - your identity is not really as secure behind online anonymity as you think unless you are a professional troll and have taken elaborate measures to obfuscate things. Trolling may come back to bite you.
Now, a question for mods - I went in to sign up for another recurring contribution for 3 months for $25 today (in addition to my normal subscription). However, I cant find any option for $25 recurring contribution now.
