There should be a separate quota for Master's degree holders with existing jobs in their field of study. That would weed out people joining random schools for a Master's degree just to be part of that quota.

Its a free forum and u cant dictate terms here while u r a member here urself. Accept the truth and live with it. When i first came in 1999 marrying us citizen was sort of heard of by IT folks.
by 2003 i was coming across so many cases of marrying us citizen.
among non indians its very common resulting in their PD being more recent.
In fact my friends who went for marrying citizen ...are way better placed in life.
It become so hard to marry from india now with contract jobs lasting short time and salary being so low after cut form h1b vendors. eventually teh pain will reach the point of yield.

Our cases are different - in my case both me and wife were primary and dependent on respective cases.
Did you file a derivative 485 for yourself based on your wife's application before it was approved?
I think your lawyer made a huge mistake of not filing a derivative 485 application for you beginning of September when her PD got current, this would have ensured you got tagged along with her application, mere letter to look at your case when your priority date (2001 eb3) is not current doesn't make any logical sense...

(As an indication of the rate of demand and how close to the quarterly and annual limits usage is, the USCIS requested three India EB-2 numbers for January, all with dates prior to 01 JAN 00.) There is some possibility that India EB-2 could again become available if it appears that the demand for India EB-1 will not exceed the annual limit, but, that determination will not be able to be made until the second half of the fiscal year.
For China-mainland born EB-2, if demand remains as has been seen over the last couple of months, it is expected that the 01 JAN 03 cut-off date will hold, and it is likely that all numbers will be used within the current cut-off date.

Per my understanding from other posts here, Pelosi can't schedule floor hearings it is handled by the majority party leader, which is Senator Reid.
Pelosi sets the time-table in the House and Reid in the Senate. Since the bill was introduced in the House, I made the statement.

I am a little concerned with the timing of these developments. I am in the same boat as everyone getting ready to file 485. But I am equally worried about this. These messages are not even getting enough attention and getting pushed down the active list.
They might pull the Rug off from under our feet while we are clamoring about various 485 application issues. Everyone should keep an eye out for it.

The ICE, USCIS and DOL are there and very much capable to take care these scams. So if you have any information about the fraud...contact those authorities. We don�t have anything to do with that. Otherwise please get lost.

Report indicates that more and more state governors come forward to urge support of Comprehensive Immigration Reform. It appears that this is particularly noticeable in the western states. There has been Governors conference for the last few days and reportedly the Utah Governor Jon Huntsman Jr. and Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano asked Western governors to:
* Oppose blanket amnesty to all undocumented workers and support "appropriate sanctions" for those breaking the law.
* Urge Congress to avoid creating incentives for more illegal immigration by "creating unnecessary hurdles and lengthy delays" for those wishing to immigrate legally.
* Call for full funding for law enforcement and security along the southern U.S. border, enforcement using "cutting-edge" technology, better coordination with law enforcement agents and construction of a federal correctional facility to house illegal immigrants convicted in state courts as well as reimbursement to states for incarcerating illegal immigrants.
* Request full funding for processing employment-based visas; eliminating visa-request backlogs and increasing the number of visas to meet U.S. industry needs, especially in high-tech, bio-tech and seasonal-based industries.
* Establish a guest worker program that will include background checks to help supply workers where there are shortages.
* Enforce sanctions against employers for hiring illegal immigrants along with a system for employers to verify citizenship and worker status.

I do not want to spoil the party fun but somewhere in my mind there is a lingering doubt. I read Ron Gotcher's post about August 2008 bulletin.

Ron gotcher makes sense to me. Considering the (quota + spill over) vs. the demand, it is just wishful thinking that all EB2-I with PD < 06/06 will get GC in the next few months. I also agree with others that in Oct EB2-I will retrogress back to the original levels (2004), it could go even beyond (to late 2002 or early 2003) that if a handful of EB2-I (who did not get a chance a last year) file 485 in the next 1-2 months.
2 yr EAD rule and this big EB2-I advancement could just be an unfortunate coincidence. But a lot of folks will sure find a 100% correlation nonetheless.

i dint get denail notice yet.Denied on april 22 .Getting worried .Is it normal for such a long delay in getting denail notice ?
NO, it is not normal. My lawyers recieved the denial notice in a weeks time and they had told me that they would contact USCIS if they did not get the notice in 14 days.
