I would not call you pessimistic. You are SELFISH. Sure you do not share the same enthu because this announcement does not offer you anything. Grow up and feel for others. Everyone knows that there will be a backlog and that is an issue we have to deal with once we get there.

I can make a similar argument about you and others. You are so concerned about your benefit today, that you dont see the harm it may do to H1b holders and future candidates for I-485.

Is there any pattern to the delays....in the sense that, did the applicants apply it late or the USCIS has been late in spite of applying around 120 days before expiry of EAD?

they have delayed processing time so more people will file for premium processing and they earn more money. H1b quota is not filling up and all of a sudden processing time went from 2 to 6-7 months in 1 month. Because so many people ( h1 - h4 ) might be travelling in dec - jan season. Come back in feb - march and processing time will be again 2 months.

Dont mean to flame you, but you say that you are not a crab and the next moment you bring up religion, faith, Indian etc and associate that to IV's
goal.
Whats wrong in that are they not the guiding principles of living life. when we all get angry about not getting the GC, this same faith and values keep us sane. I associate these with IV so that God can give them strength to succed. we will give our donations to support that.

Yes, don't worry guys. Once I-140 is approved, most of employment and job related stuff is over.
I-485 is mainly for status change stage to check criminal background (not job related :) ), FP and name check. They won't check much on job.
It is all straight forward and only a time consuming stage. Thats all. Enjoy the AOS pending stage.

Consider this example. It is possible that I-140 is approved in Dec 2005 and I-485 is filed in July 2007. There can be big time lag between I-140 and I-485.
I-140 is mainly matching job requirement to employee' skill set and experience and ability to pay for the employer. It does NOT check for out of status issues. I hope you know that person may not be US for I-140 to be approved.
I-485 is, like it says, adjustment of status and it checks for status issue. Please refer to section 245 in detail. Section 245(k), for example, applies to I-485 (and not to I-140).
Please confirm with your lawyer and get your info right.

If anyone of you here in SAP, Oracle apps, JDE...this might be useful. I have APICS CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) books all four volumes in very good condition. I think USCIS or DOL is the one which approves cases based on LS. They have a big database of people who used that....
How many of the ppl who r disgusted by LS have contributed anything to IV or its cause, but are very happy to file their 485. Dude, nobody is a Mahatma Gandhi here....

What reason did you give for declining this promotion? what kind of company is this ? how big ? would your salary increase ?
Maybe if you answer this, I could think of something..but as of now..if its a good company and you like it..explain to them the nitty gritties about how change in occupation, classification, salary etc would jeopardize your GC process...i can give more suggestions if you want to send me a PM..

Friends, what is the use of screaming here in this forum? We should become more effective in getting our point of view across, as the important people just don't get it.
