Family Second Preference (F2): Spouses, minor children, and unmarried sons and daughters (over age 20) of lawful permanent residents. (114,200) At least seventy-seven percent of all visas available for this category will go to the spouses and children; the remainder will be allocated to unmarried sons and daughters.
What do you want to know? I130 and I485 needs to be filed. Both Counselor Processing as well as AOS allowed.

I applied my first H1B extension through my company in June 2008. On 11th Feb, I received REF. I am very much tense about it. Since I am out of project. I got cleared my I 140 with this company in July 2008.
I applied H1B transfer(Normal process) also in October 2008 to other company . This one is still pending.
I am very much tense about my status. Please suggest me what to do?
Is it better to answer to RFE for first company?
or
Can I do PP with second company? or else any better thing?

I also don't think this is true. After you get your 3-year H1B extension beyound the 6-year limit and say your 485 gets denied while you are in 7th year, you can still stay and work for the rest of the 2 years on your H1B and use those 2 years to file for new LC etc.
Gurus, please advise, with the slew of mistaken 485 denials this is an important point to clarify.
He will have the H1 status until the expiry date. But only thing he may not be able to transfer H1 if there is no other case is pending.

Just two things:
1. Make up your mind about your last name and stick with it. Jumping last names can create trouble for you in future. I work for a bank and two different last names mean different people, your credit report will also be messed up so in the long run you will have a lot of pain.
2. Since your first name has three names, and I am guessing out of those two one would be your town and other you father name or something like that, it would be hlepful for you to convert them to single letter and just keep your given name as full name. Most of the systems in US cannon handle three first names and you will face this trouble again and again even if you get it figured out in the visa.
For your current problem just state that your new 797 is approved with a wrong last name, and talk to a lawyer. If he asks show him your new passport and explain the reason for the last name change.
DMV story will create unnecessary confusion so skip it.

did the io specifically say that? why do they care about other income? i would really like to know... if they are now saying that you cannot have any other income then all those who are trying to do a business on the side while on EAD could be in trouble! right?

Yes, I guess I went through that scrutiny when I submitted the employment letter and payslips and W-2 last month...the IO had told me that he had employment letter from 2007 so he would like a current one and he wanted my tax details compared to W-2 to see if there was any other income apart from my job income.

I agree with High skilled educated "illiterates" version part. Sad, but this is a bitter truth.
I have many friends that have pending I-485 application and almost all them act/behave as if they are green card holders. May be, it is due to feel good factor. May be, they feel like GC holder as spouse can work and/or start business. Infact, when asked about visa status, they state that they are almost green card holder.
Well, I hope they all get green cards. Having said that, until I-485 is approved, person is not green card holder.
In my opinion, EAD is a step towards green card status as it allows some freedom (AC-21, spouse can work), but it is just that, a step.

What has changed that they are so confident it will be successful? May be USCIS is scared that this lawsuit might dig out the skeletons from it's closets and there is a settlement in the making? Interesting developments.

Who r u to ask him to get lost??? Just becoz u have so many greens dozn't mean that u can rule the roost. Therez something called as freedom of speech and hez just using it. Its a free forum and u cant dictate terms here while u r a member here urself. Accept the truth and live with it. Whyz that some desis get so offended when someone rightly points out the dirty behavior of desi employers? He has a point and u need to respect that. And yes this is immigration related and causes awareness among the legal immigrant community. If that dozn't get into ur thick skull then God knows what doz. Yes, the motive of the original poster could be questioned due to the nature of his first post. But do we really have a set rules for the first post. I have seen some new members getting reds coz they ask for help in their first post and get bombarded for not contributing or helping others.
This post does not and cannot imply that any significant percentage of indians are into visa scams to make money. Whatever the original posters intention, this is a relevant post since it is immigration related. Most indians and similarly most EB GC applicants are legal, law abiding folks. Lets not get offended or take this personally. We have to mature and show that just coz some section of 'our' people do a misdeed does not reflect that all of those people are of the same color or morals.

Does anyone know of any health centers in Jersey which do vaccinations for cheap or free.. I am sure there must be some public hospitals where you can walk in and just get the vaccinations - saying they are for safety.
I have heard that vaccinations are free in New York City Public Health Center.. Can anyone confirm that?

I understand 221g is an action to prevent fraud. But at the same time consular officer should give a chance to prove visa applicant's point at the time of interview. In my case I had most of the docs at the time of interview, Why don't they accept those docs and start processing immediately, then I would have saved some 3 weeks ...
Moreover, Not all ther employer will hold your position, If your case is taken long period for approval. They have to run their business ...
So I would expect DOS should change the way of handling 221g cases. Right now It's too lenghty and more confused ...
It is hard to say dont loose hope but really thats the best option possible anyways. Is your family also affected or are they back here in the US? Your son is in which grade? If he is back with you in India it might be best to inform his school about the delay. Hopefully you will hear great news soon so keep the faith. Best..

I used:
The little angel. It's in the brighter area. Gave the dark areas alittle bit more "texture" so I kept it.
I also used the clouds in there. That's why the wings look all gold and shiny.:)

Seeing the quote from the link provided, I feel all the ripped off $$$ from us will be used in enforcing border security..:-) They must've pondered "where will all the money come from??, and then someone must've come up with the idea, hey clear the GC backlogs of the past 5 years and make the dates current tomorrow!"
