There are reports that there are a huge backlog in medical examination appointments in certain areas. Currently, the USCIS requires the sealed medical report as the part of "initial evidence" for filing of I-485 applications. The attorneys here in Orlando asked the USCIS to change the current policy, allowing I-485 filers to file I-485 without the medical report. The USCIS took such request under advisement. Considering the fact that EB numbers could move backward again, such change of policy may be critically important for some filers.

belive it or not, I knew that. I mean the part about the US, not the part about India as I don't hail from there.
The point that I was trying to make but did not state clearly enough was that I feel that when one has a political agenda whether it is pro or anti immigration, children should be kept out of it. Labeling children like anchor babies is dehumanizing. I believe that when kids are involved, as human beings, everyone should always be concerned about their best interest rather than what our political view.
This is why I hate the term anchor babies. The antis are willing to even dehumanize kids if it fits with their political view.

Without any changes to the current system, How many of us will be in a similar position in 3 yrs time?
I am only asking this question since we all know how many of us are in the queue with PDs in 2001-2004 range. If 2800 per country EB category get out of this queue then, absent relief, this could easily be us in 3 yrs.

This is my opinion. TSC 485 processing time is July 17,2008. NSC 485 processing cut off date is July 28th, 2008. It is worth trying but from my experience over the last 3 years of contacting congressman's office....it really is not that important.....I have heard that the congressman needs to be influential et al...that's nonsense...the congressman never gets to read ur mail...it goes to an immigration person mostly a junior staff member and he does what lawyers do thru AILA to get info on the case...they can neither expedite a case nor get valuable information for you...

My I 140 got approved just after moving to company B
My old attoney only filed I485 with old labor and I 140.
To summarize your case, you got your LC approved from company A and filed I-140. Then left company A and joined company B. You got your I-140 approved after joining company B so your attorney from company B applied I-485 based on the I-140 approval from company A. Did I get this right?
If so, I hope you are not currently working on EAD. Only way you can save your I-485 petition is if you can get an offer letter from company A stating that you will be re-hired upon GC approval. I hope this is possible and I wish you good luck.

My $1,700 28mm f/1.4 lens (http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/2814af.htm) wide open at f/1.4 was useless on two cameras, but of course OK at normal apertures. You won't see this through the finder. You have to look at the images at 100% on your computer. It's simply the image being focused on something just a little behind where it should have, which is usually invisible if you have enough depth of field, and of course Nikon will stand behind it if it really is a problem. The samples I've used in May 2004 now seem AOK and mine is perfect, even at f/1.4.
Heck, my D70 focused better than any other camera I've owned, even with my f/1.4 lenses.
Testing this is simple. Just go make at least a dozen photos with your lens wide open and look at the results at 100% on your computer. See if the camera really focused where it should have. Best wishes to all of you who are seeking advice or are in a visa process of any sort.
My question here if any one could kindly help me: I came to work in 2002 with a J1 visa, stayed for the 3 stipulated years under the J1 visa. I wanted to changed my visa for a H1B so I got a waiver, and then I went through the process the year that they had the lottery for H1B, I made the lottery, but sadly after paying all my fees, sending all the documents that my lawyer asked my employer for that time, I did not obtain an H1B.
I do not understand this. The waiver H1 is specofically exempt from the H1B quota, why did you need the lottery? If you made the lottery though, why did you not get the H1B?
Last year I could come back with another J1, I stayed in my country for 3 years, so my new employer applied for a J1 without using my waiver, as there was not need for it.
Why did you not get an H1B this time?? Why come back on a J1 after all that history?
Now my question, I do want to change my status from my present J1 to an H1B, and I would like to know if I can use the previous waiver that I obtain with my first J1 in order to waive the 2 year residency restriction on my present J1 so that I could apply for the H1B with a new employer?
You cannot. The J1 is a "scarlet letter". Each time you take one, you need a waiver for it. You will have to get one again. By the way, did you have a physician J1? My answer about the H1B being exempt was based on that presumption.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
