If I am not wrong VDLRAO is predicting Eb2 will be current with in a year if USCIS continue horizontal spillover. What is wrong with you..

Landed in this country on Aug-16-1997 for Masters. Today myself and my wife both got CPO mail/text message. Thanks IV community and good luck to all. I will be doing my part to make this system better!!!

Contacted Congress Woman on Aug 9 - Didn't get any useful info. I think, being in bay area, they might have been flooded with these requests.
Aug 10 - Opened an Infopass for Aug 18
Aug 16, 8:30 am - Dependent SR
Aug 16, 9:30 am - Called the customer service for primary's status - got the standard response that they sent a mail (which i didn't get) asking me to wait for 60 days.
Aug 16, 10:15 am - Wife called me to inform the good news, the online status change.
Aug 16, 10:18 am - got the text message (which just said "check your status online").
Aug 16: Got the CPO mail (time stamped 10:18am)
Guys (and Gals), Hang in there and you will have your independence soon.

This is ridiculous; all I see is unnecessary hurdles being produced � I see efforts of discouragement towards coming to this country on H1B. First they suddenly start auditing 60% PERM cases and now suddenly delaying visa unreasonably�increasing Visa numbers and making Green Card processing faster is aside, we are facing other problems.

Do things in this order -
1. Find a job first.
2. Secure a good apartment at new job's location.
3. If you need a better car buy one right now.
4. Get some credit cards.
5. Let your home go to foreclosure.
It is a financial decision. Every once in a while, most of us go to different stores and ask them to match the price for the item that we had purchased earlier. If they do not match the price then we return that item. Don't we? Do not get sentimental. Just walk off! Your credit history would get screwed but if you plan it the way I said above, you will be fine. Good luck.

Our cases were approved on Sep 21, 2010. Received approval notices on Sep 25, 2010. But did not get the Cards yet. I am planing to travel next week. So I went to local USCIS office and got the I-551 stamp on my passport. Can you guys suggest me what other documents I need to take along with me if I don't receive the cards by the time I leave. Also pls let me how long will it takes to receive the cards.

I had a reqruiter discussing a great job opportunity and finally when it came to the status thing, it was my mistake, i said "I have EAD". She said "That's fine" and never got back to me, she said she will be in touch via email but never did that.
So this is a pattern now.
Reqruiters and HR know they can say "Sorry we do not sponser visas" so they say it without any issue but not EAD.
I am just baffled as to why are some people so fussy about EAD. Isn't EAD holders a piece of cake for the company? People with skills and eligible to work for any employer????
I am sure the hiring managers would love to bring good people on board. But unfortunately, these reqruiters and HR are creating the mess.
Looks like for reqruiters, they think they can just apply the filter to lessen their burden on collecting resumes.
The problem here is, she may not have responded back for some other reason. We cannot assume the EAD is always the reason. We cannot know unless they explicity say so, as I experienced yesterday.
My wife had her resume on monster under the GC cateogry (they do not have an EAD category as far as I know). She was interviewed and selected and when submitting her I-9, she put in her EAD details and attached a copy. No one raised a hoot at any point.
There are only some sections rejecting EADs either because of ignorance or due to the additional work required in screening EAD candidates as the recruiter explained to me.
It may also be a good idea for people who recently had success with EADs to post their cases here or people will begin to get anxious about their work status as no one really knows how long they will be stuck with EADs.

Thus you can use your cell phone to call a vonage # here in US and have it forwarded to india cell #. Works for me.
This is what i am doing to call a cell phone or any land line in india. Vonage has a call forwarding feature. Simply log in to your vonage account and go to features and configure the call forwarding feature.Configure such that the call is forwarded after 20 sec's. Intially vonage rings and after that it is forwarded to the india cell or landline forwarding number. Its free of charge as calling from vonage to india #'s is free. I doubt that. Medical was relaxed since it can take time for people to get the medicals done. Also immigration doctors were all busy at this time. So it is possible that people arent able to get the meds done by the Aug 17 deadline. The other documents like EVL shouldnt take this long. If the employer is willing to provide future employment to someone then it should be sent along with the application. Whether USCIS will relax for lack of Initial Evidence other than Medical is hard to say. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
I was joking. Considering how AILA is touting its role in the negotiations that reversed the July VB fiasco... they should be on top of this issue now, as it was lawyers, not laypersons like us, who decided to submit without proper documents e.g. EVL

Wait for the Updates from USICS today/monday morning...If they didnt give any statement considering a lot of rumors/activity , defintely some bad news is in store ......
On the flip side, if this is only a rumor, then USCIS/DOS won't comment at all.

I have 2004 W2 but cant seem to find my tax return. I have 2003, 2005, 2006tax returns but not 2004. What can I do to get that return. Please any advice will be nice.

Call IRS they will send your return in a week though they say it takes 3 weeks to recieve your return.

First, don't panic :) I doubt there's anything we can do about it at this stage. I'm in exactly the same situation (interview at the Delhi consulate on the 22nd, response - administrative processing, and the consular officer had told me that I'd get it in a week).
According to my lawyer, our cases have been sent to Washington for security clearence. And based on the feedback she has been getting, it is taking about a month. The embassy cannot issue our visas till they hear back from Washington.
So I realize that it totally _SUX_ but there's nothing we can do about it. So just chill and wait..

NOT SURE WHY ?? this delay is ??
i maybe forgetting..but which consulate did you go to and if new delhi then what was the description(looks) of the VO ?

Are getting succeded in two ways
1. Bill is getting passed
2. Dividing the immigrent family into narrow tiny pieces...
If you wants to protest against L1 they will do the same with US...
Guess what they can lobby more than us.. they invest more than us... you are talking about the gaints companies.
Stop fussing about L1 and start disscussing about the billl
This is what I did I sent the bill text to my friends (L1 and H1) and explaning them that this Bill is equally bad for us both and let their employer knows and act against to it...
