"Representative Elton Gallegly (R-CA) introduced H.R. 133, Citizenship Reform Act of 2007, which would limit citizenship by birth to children born to at least one permanent resident or citizen parent."
Does this mean that if we do not have green cards our childern born here are not citizens. Am I understanding it right..
This requires a change in the constitution and I do not think it will ever pass.

I am totally in support with IV. I can say bunch of my silent friends support as well. Can we change the name of this thread to something optimistic so that more people will come in a show solidarity to the IV Core.

This part refers to family benefits, i.e. payments to spouse based on your SS contributions.
The family benefits are explained on the ss website but there is no clear information about how the worker will get the benefits. On further digging, I found a document which indicates that the worker must be in the US to get the benefits.
i read that they will send a check to india if u qualify. where did u read otherwise?

I see that currently there are 57 members and 195 guests currently. I understand that there might be people from anti immigration groups browsing through as well. Ignoring them,How about sending an online pop up message requesting the guest to register as a member and contribute if they want? I am just trying to tap those guys in who are a bit lazy or silent observers who are reticent and come out only on the day when they got their LC approved or something significant happens. We ill make it a point on the pop up that membership does matter and its not mandatory that they contribute.

Yes, I guess there's something FISHY. I really feel the PLOT is to rip of all the $$$ first by making dates current and bring in some crap legislation that'll throw everyone out. What a brilliant scam! Even Harshad Mehta will be impressed :-)

Guys,
I live in NJ and I had sent my EAD renewal package to the following address via USPS certified mail:
USCIS
Texas Service Center
P.O. Box 851041
Mesquite, TX 75185-1041
When I tracked my receipt today (for both mine and my wife's package), I got the following status:
Status: Notice Left
We attempted to deliver your item at 1:47 PM on May 9, 2008 in MESQUITE, TX 75185 and a notice was left. It can be redelivered or picked up at the Post Office. If the item is unclaimed, it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.
Can any one tell me if I have used incorrect mailing address or is this status normal? Do I need to do anything about it?
Thanks a bunch. Your replies will be appreciated.

Hi,
Thanks for your advice. I believe that my employer has no problem to write me a recommendation letter or sign support letter.
Do you believe I have a chance or not ? which one?
Thanks,
John
Your profile does not sound enough for either EB1-OR (aka EB1-B aka EB1-2) or EB2-NIW. As pointed out before, if your employer is unwilling to "sponsor" you (i.e., not willing to sign a support letter), then you can go only with either EB1-EA or EB2-NIW. All other categories, including EB1-OR require sponsorship from the employer. In general, the lowest non-retrogressed preference level is the best bet. If you were born in Egypt, then that is EB2 (standard EB2 sponsored by your employer). For people who were born in India and (mainland) China, it is EB1.

If they ask for police clearance .. you give it..
Unless it was a felony that requires certain jail-time or something it's not always counted against you.. remember .. purpose is not to exclude shop-lifters.. they got plenty of those in Canada but rather identify and filter out security hazards.. you might need in person interview.. but it should be alright.. I know even US immigration allows folks like that.. so can't imagine Canada being more stringent..
I guess, we will wait for any response on this front, fron the buffalo office..
How can I get my spouse added to the application now? so taht she can accompany me at landing?
I send emai lto bufalo office, they havent responded

Really... Selling a house takes longer and in some places its six month - a year. When you are detained at the airport, you can not list your house and sit in the airport for a year. Think before what you post.
I have sold a house in US while being physically in India. All you need to do is give a notarized affidavit to your Realtor and you don't need to be on the closing table. There is always a solution to worst case scenarios. Dude do some googling and you'll know what I am talking about.

My PD is 10/04. My I 485 was received on 7/2/07 in TSC. I am the primary applicant and my case was transfered to NSC in 8/07 while the I485 of my spouse remained with TSC. I have no LUD on my case since 11/07 but her case was transfered to NBC for standard interview. She lives in a deifferent state as she is studying and I thought that may be they want to make sure that we are married (as has been with many other cases). I was hoping that may be they will also send my case for interview as is usual for other people but having our cases in 2 different service centers has made it complicated. Will wait and see.

yah I love mysql. You can store information in the db and pull it out and manipulate it. I think the most attractive part of it is that it is free and so is php, as long as your server supports them, you can get the job done quickly and well.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Is LLC corp employer eligible to do H-1 transfer? I have an American citizen friend who has a LLC corp and work as an independent contractor. Can he file for my H-1 transfer and can I work for him?
His annual income is about 150 to 200K. I think he takes about 100K as salary and rest as company profit.
I have my 140 approved and 485 pending (>180 days).
Any potential risks with this approach?
Thanks in advance!

Prediction is as good as the data available. From previous discussions (EB2-EB3 predictions) - it was predicted to see movement based on the data available - well, I am guessing the data was incorrect and therefore predictions can never be close to being correct.
Sincerely hope that the efforts of this community is to seek for data that is largely correct. I guess, may be IV can ask for the inclusion of advising USCIS to release the correct data frequently in the CIR draft.

after all this, there is a very high likelihood of getting RFE from USCIS at 485 stage.
What kind of RFE can be expected at the 485 stage?

Hi deafTunes123,
I went to infopass yes'day, mainly to confirm my priority date. My employer used RIR labor and ported to PERM. Not sure of the PD, so took infopass.
She printed the screenshot and given me.
Find the screenshot attached. Preference E21 is EB2.

Guys,
I took an info pass last week to check the status of my case. Specifically to check whether the interfile is success or not. IO at USCIS office mentioned that she cannot check whether my case is in EB2 or EB3. I am surprised to hear that. Gurus any has this kind of experience?
Also, She mentioned that my case is assigned to an Officer on August 13th. Do any one has any info how many days(on average), an Office will take to approve a case. Any info. is helpful to me and all.
Overall the Field Office people were polite.
Thanks,
Thun.
